Chapter 1: Visual Polish & Brand Consistency

Before you publish any landing page or customer portal, the single quickest way to destroy credibility is visual inconsistency. Visitors evaluate brand legitimacy in less than 50 milliseconds.

1. The 16px Modular Typographic Scale

Never pick arbitrary font sizes. Use a mathematical ratio like the Major Third (1.250). For a 16px base, your headings should follow strict multipliers: 16px body, 20px subtext, 25px h3, 31px h2, and 39px h1. Always set optical line heights: 150-160% for body paragraphs, and 110-120% for large display titles.

2. The 8pt Soft Grid Rule

Every margin, padding, height, and gap should be a multiple of 8px (or 4px for fine micro-elements). When elements adhere to 8px, 16px, 24px, 32px, and 48px rhythm, subconscious eye fatigue drops to zero.
